etc...is hunting for seaglass....

didn't stay too long as it was a bit nippy...

but was there long enough to find a few

pieces for my ever-growing collection....

 

and to soothe my weary soul.....

remember how i told you all that

fannie rose started w/one hatpin?

well, here they are...in full regalia...

 

the very first one is way in back on the left hand

side......ornate brass w/a porcelain

center....

another cold and frosty one...

got up to another very cold

and frosty connecticut morning...

still sunny so that helps a lot...

a few months back as hubby

and i were out for a ride

w/dusty...we happened upon

a great old metal boxspring....

much to his chagrin, hubby

loaded it in the car and painstakingly

took it all apart which left

me with many great individual

springs...

for christmas, i made little trees

and angels as gifts....

here is my latest creation that i am going

to put up on my etsy shoppe....

a super memo/recipe holder....

i also have some dog bone and

heart shaped zinc tags that i will

also offer in my shoppe....

it's a cold and blustery..albeit sunny...

new england day here in connecticut...

zoe and mr nube blog is named after my

two beloved pets that have gone over to

rainbow bridge...zoe the cat and nubie

the dog.....

 

what i hope to share here is my love

for things...human and non-human...

here's a little info about me....

i am semi-retired ...married w/two
children and a lovely little 6 month
old grandson...lucas david....and, of course,
my little dusty the dog...a darling 7 1/2 yo
cairn terrier that we adopted after he was
found marching the main roads in a heavy
snow storm...

i am first and foremost a collector...
it all started with one small Victorian
hatpin and quickly morphed
into vintage hats, purses and even
more hatpins...when those cherished
collections began to take over every
square inch of my home, i decided to
set up shop...and, the name of that
shop is Fannie Rose.....named after
my italian and irish grandmothers...

i've always viewed my collections as a delightful
melange' of frivolous necessities...i first opened
my business in 1991...Fannie Rose was a brick
and mortar store in various parts of Connecticut
from that date until 2004...

i discovered the joy of selling online in 1997 on eBay
and then found Etsy in March of 2006....

i thought that a blog now was a natural extension
of all that...

i still collect...have TONS of stuff....for myself and
for sale....

hope you stop by often to see what's new w/
